Due to team expansion and increasing workload on current team leads, we are looking for a Head of Game Development to join our progressive Game Development department. The preferred locations for this role include Russia (St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yaroslavl), Georgia, Armenia, Serbia, Spain, Portugal, and Malta.

WHAT YOU KNOW To thrive in this role, we expect you to bring:

  • Solid hands-on experience with TypeScript, ideally combined with PixiJS and GSAP;
  • Deep understanding of frontend architecture: logic isolation, state management, scalability, and performance;
  • Practical knowledge of ExpressJS, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, and CI/CD practices (Bitbucket Pipelines is a plus);
  • Proven ability to build and scale tech teams — from hiring to competency growth;
  • A strong sense of balance between day-to-day operations and long-term technical strategy;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and represent the dev team externally;
  • Confident English, both written and spoken — you’ll work with an international team and documentation.

WHAT YOU DO As Head of Game Development, your role will span across strategic, managerial, and hands-on technical areas.

Managerial responsibilities:

  • Oversee game development teams through team leads, while respecting their autonomy.
  • Support and mentor current leads, onboard and develop new engineers and teams.
  • Build a culture of efficient collaboration across departments.
  • Work with the Project Manager on backlog prioritization, delivery timelines, and quality control.

Strategic responsibilities:

  • Define and implement a development strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Design scalable processes and structures to support horizontal team growth.
  • Introduce and maintain internal standards, best practices, and development workflows.
  • Continuously review and improve technical bottlenecks.
  • Stay ahead of iGaming and web tech trends, bringing innovation to the department.

Technical responsibilities:

  • Take part in client-side architecture design: engines, state management, core libraries.
  • Maintain high code quality through reviews, audits, and refactoring.
  • Solve complex engineering tasks and oversee key changes.
  • Develop and maintain shared infrastructure: CI/CD, dev environments, build systems.
  • Support QA and performance processes for game delivery.
